Last year, Scenic gave cruisers a sneak peek at the designs for a new cruise ship they're billing as the world's first Discovery Yacht, the Scenic Eclipse. Recently, Scenic unveiled more of the yacht's amenities, highlighting an increase to 10 dining experiences, a longer vessel, scuba diving opportunities and more in three new brochures: Scenic Eclipse, Scenic Discovery Voyages- Europe and the Americas and Scenic Polar Voyages - Arctic and Antarctica.
The mega yacht, carrying just 228 guests (200 in the polar regions of Arctic and Antarctica), is slated to sail its inaugural voyage in the Mediterranean on August 31, 2018. Scenic Eclipse's small size will allow for docking in smaller ports; its GPS positioning technology will allow it to 'anchor' in areas where the use of a real anchor would be off-limits; and its onboard seven-seat helicopters and submarines can take cruisers to remote regions, Scenic said.
The Scenic Eclipse will boast 114 suites, each with a private veranda and lounge area. The suites range in size from the 345-square-foot Veranda Suites to the 2,659-square-foot two-bedroom Penthouse Suite.
Additionally, four new dining options have been added since Scenic first announced Scenic Eclipse last year, bringing the total to ten. Guests can choose from restaurants featuring Italian, steaks and seafood to French find dining, Asian Fusion, poolside grilling or 24/7 room service.
