Record-setting explorer Colin O’Brady will join guests on an Antarctic Seabourn cruise this November. Recently in the news for becoming the first person to cross Antarctica solo, O’Brady will speak to guests about his experience on Seabourn’s Ultimate Antarctica & Patagonia cruise.
O’Brady completed his historic journey on December 26, 2018. Traveling unaided by kites or resupplies, he covered over 930 miles in 54 days. Throughout the course of his trek, O’Brady never took a full day off. He will be joining Seabourn later this year for its first Antarctic sailing of the 2019-2020 season, departing November 28 from Santiago, Chile.
A professional endurance athlete, O’Brady has achieved four World Records in his career. In 2016 he broke the speed records for the Explorers Grand Slam and Seven Summits, a global mountaineering challenge to climb the tallest mountain on every continent and ski to the North and South Poles. Last year, he nearly halved the record for summiting the highest points in each of the 50 states, completing the feat in 21 days.
The cruise company’s Seabourn Conversations program brings famous explorers, chefs, scholars, performers and experts from around the world to talk to guests about their experiences and lives. Aside from O’Brady, this next year’s program will include English novelist and former politician Jeffery Archer, award-winning lyricist Tim Rice, entrepreneur Steven Wozniak, adventurer Alison Levine and more.
