Silversea Announces Refurbishment for Silver Whisper, Silver Wind

Silversea Cruises has announced plans for both the Silver Wind and Silver Whisper to undergo a complete refurbishment program that will be completed in December 2017.

The renovation project is a part of a fleet-wide refurbishment program of $170 million launched by Silversea in late 2016, with the purpose of refreshing the look of its ships and equipping them with more modern amenities.

The Silver Whisper will incorporate technical improvements that will streamline and enhance the ship’s service. The refurbishment will also include a redesign of the vessel’s public areas- including upgrades for La Terrazza and the Observation and Panorama lounges- with design inspiration taken from the Silver Muse, Silversea’s newest flagship.

The Silver Wind will get a similar upgrade, taking inspiration from the Silver Muse as well. Public areas, floors, and furniture will receive stylish enhancements to take the luxury ship to a new level of artistry and design.

"Silver Muse has been a sophisticated inspirational milestone for our brand. We are confident that the comprehensive makeover we have planned for Silver Wind and Silver Whisper will enhance the onboard experience and be equally appreciated by our guests," said Roberto Martinoli, Silversea's CEO.

Silversea Cruises is recognized as one of the leading innovators in the ultra-luxury cruise line industry. Each ship in its fleet of elegant, all-suite vessels- the Silver Wind, Silver Shadow, Silver Whisper, Silver Spirit and Silver Muse- is designed to provide large-ship amenities in a more intimate setting.

With the inclusion of its expedition ships Silver Explorer, Silver Galapagos, Silver Discoverer, and with Silver Cloud joining the Expedition fleet in 2018, Silversea's itineraries will take passengers to all seven continents, with destinations like the Mediterranean, Caribbean, and both Polar Regions.
