Silversea Debuts 19 New Overland Tours

Silversea Cruises has debuted 19 new overland tours for 2012. The company will be offering a total of over 50 overland excursions for next year, some of which include:

Venture into Amazonia,” a five-day trip including two nights at the Amazon Ecopark Jungle Lodge. This trip is offered from Belem on the Silver Whisper’s January 7 voyage sailing from Fort Lauderdale to Rio De Janeiro. Guests rejoin the voyage in Salvador de Bahia. The trip is priced at $3,899 per guest.

Gorah Elephant Camp,” is a camp in the Addo Elephant National Park, which is home to over 450 elephants. The three-day trip is offered on Silver Wind voyages on January 14 and 24, and February 3 sailing round trip from Cape Town. Guests depart from Richards Bay and rejoin the ship in East London, South Africa. The package is available for $3,199 per guest.

Perito Moreno & El Calafate,” an eleven-and-a-half hour detour from the Silver Spirit’s January 27 voyage, gives guests the opportunity to visit the Perito Moreno glacier in Patagonia’s Glaciers National Park. The package is valued at $2,157 per person.

Sossusviei Desert Lodge,” an overnight stay at the Sossusvlei Desert Lodge allows for a two-day trip in the Namib Desert on the Silver Wind’s February 13 voyage, priced at $1,599 per person.

Chengdu Pandas & Tibet,” is a five-day package allowing guests to see pandas at the Chengdu Panda Breeding Research Center, before flying to Lhasa in Tibet to visit the Potala Palace, Drepung Monastery, and more. The package is priced at $3,999 per person and is offered on the Silver Whisper’s March 3 sailing from Hong Kong to Shanghai.

Greeks, Romans & The Pharaohs,” is a two-day package featuring overnight stay at the Four Seasons Nile Plaza Hotel, visiting the New Bibliotheca Alexandrina. This trip is available on Silver Wind voyages taking place March 27, October 19 and 31 for $999 per guest.

A Tale of Three Cities,” is a three-day program visiting Berlin, Dresden, and Leipzig in Germany priced at $2,799. The trip is available on Silver Cloud’s July 10 voyage.

Ayers Rock & The Red Centre,” is a two-night stay at the Longitude 131 luxury wilderness camp visiting Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park in Australia for four-and-a-half days. This trip is offered on Silver Shadow’s December 20 sailing for $7,199 per person.
