Silversea to Convert Silver Cloud to Ice-Class Expedition Ship

Between August and October 2017, Silversea's Silver Cloud will be converted into an ice-class expedition ship. Silver Cloud, which launched the Silversea fleet in 1994, will offer the luxury amenities of a classic Silversea ship combined with the maneuverability needed for expedition cruising.

The new renderings showcase the design of Silver Cloud's public spaces, including La Terrazza, The Restaurant, Observation Lounge, Panorama Lounge and Venetian Lounge. Refurbishments will include the creation of the Observation Lounge, new teak flooring, upholstery and lighting in La Terrazza and new carpet and upholstery in The Restaurant. Silver Cloud will also offer a new gym with Technogym equipment.

                                                                                                                                                       La Terraza, Silver Cloud

In addition to interior updates, the multi-million dollar refurbishment will strengthen Silver Cloud's hull so she can sail in polar waters. With a guest capacity of 260 in non-polar regions and 200 in polar regions, guests will have personalized service from the start to the end of their trip. The limited capacity in polar regions means that all guests can disembark at the same time to explore each region.

Silver Cloud will also have a team of up to 19 dedicated experts onboard to ensure guests leave with the best experience from their voyage. Daily presentations and lectures by experts in the state-of-the-art theater will also be live-streamed to all suites.

Silversea Cruises offers guests large-ship amenities aboard intimate, all-suite vessels: Silver Wind, Silver Shadow, Silver Whisper, Silver Spirit and Silver Muse. With the inclusion of the expedition ships; Silver Explorer, Silver Galapagos, Silver Discoverer and with Silver Cloud joining the expedition fleet in November 2017, Silversea's itineraries encompass all seven continents and sail to roughly 1,000 destinations worldwide.
