One mystery in the Cruise West situation has apparently been solved. Cruise West's 120-passenger Spirit of Oceanus has been sold to TN Cruise K/S, an investment group based in Denmark, according to shipping sources. No sales price was divulged.
The ship has been renamed Sea Spirit. It will be managed by International Shipping Partners (ISP) of Miami, which plans to charter it out.
Several months ago, Cruise West had indicated some interest in selling the ship and perhaps leasing it back, but there is no word on whether that might be the case anymore. The only statement issued by the line— at www.cruisewest.com— is now more than a week old.
