Swan Hellenic Reveals Name Of Its Largest Expedition Cruise Ship

Swan Hellenic has announced that more than half the structure of its third and largest next-generation ship was assembled, with all but two blocks now delivered. The company also revealed that it will be named SH Diana.

The next-generation polar expedition vessel, which is fully "Safe Return to Port"-certified, has been specially designed for to explore the most inspiring and inaccessible places on earth. It is slated to launch in early 2023.

SH Diana will provide five-star accommodation for 192 guests in 96 staterooms and suites, most of which will have large balconies. It will be operated by an onboard team of 141 to provide personal service. It will also feature hygiene technology to protect the health of all onboard, including air-conditioning with UV sanitization systems.

SH Diana’s on-board amenities include a swimming pool, spa, panoramic sauna, gym, library, expedition laboratory and observation lounge for lectures by expedition leaders and experts from a range of disciplines. Gourmet cuisine, local specialties and healthy dining will be offered in the panoramic restaurant, club lounge and pool bar, and through full room service.

As with its sister ships, SH Diana will offer a multifunctional room next to the observation lounge, a private dining room for special occasions, additional suites, and two tenders that will give guests a comfortable alternative to Zodiacs for expedition landings.
