Tauck Welcomes Solo Travelers - Again

river cruiseTauck reports it is again rolling out the red carpet for solo travelers in 2014, eliminating the single supplement on its Category 1 European riverboat cabins, and reducing the single supplement by up to $600 on 158 departures of 64 itineraries to five continents.

According to Tauck CEO Dan Mahar, the single supplement savings are an added attraction to travel suited to solo travelers. “By their very nature, our guided tours and cruises provide a wonderful camaraderie and sense of assurance that’s typically absent when one travels alone,” said Mahar. “What’s more, we handle all of the advance planning and details for our guests, so there’s no anxiety or worry. By eliminating or reducing the single supplement on so many of our trips, we’re really making great journeys for solo travelers even better.”

Besides waiving the single supplement for the Category 1 cabins on its European riverboats, Tauck is also taking $1,000 off the price for solo travelers booking Category 4 and 5 cabins on 28 departures of 13 different river cruises.

Also in Europe, Tauck has also reduced the single supplement by up to $400 on 50 departures of 22 different land tours. In North America, Tauck is offering up to $300 off the single supplement on 46 departures of 18 itineraries.  And within its “Exotics” portfolio, Tauck has trimmed the single supplement by $300 to $600 on 34 departures of 11 trips in Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Middle East. Tauck says it is also working hard to accommodate solo travelers in other aspects of its business.  For example, the company says it is including four dedicated cabins for solo travelers in the design of its two new riverboats launching next year (the ms Savor and ms Inspire).

The company also features a dedicated Solo Travel Forum and Solo Travel section on its website, tauck.com, to better serve its guests and prospective guests who may be traveling alone.
