Three Norwegian Cruise Line Ships Get an Upgrade

Three ships from Norwegian Cruise Line Norwegian Breakaway, Norwegian Sun and Norwegian Star — now have new designs and venues following a series of renovations. Here are the highlights:

  1. Norwegian Breakaway: This ship has a new American rock ‘n’ roll bar and lounge called Syd Norman’s Pour House, as well as upgraded accommodations and new public spaces. Three times each week, “Rock of Ages” cast members serve up cocktails based on old-time rock & roll songs like “Witchy Woman” A five-piece band will also play classic rock songs six nights per week.
  2. Norwegian Sun: This ship, which was built in 2001, now has renovated staterooms and public spaces. There are also added venues including the Los Lobos Cantina, the Bliss Ultra Lounge and the Spinnaker Lounge. Los Lobos Cantina is a Mexican restaurant that serves modern takes on traditional dishes, such as Al Pastor tacos. The Bliss Ultra Lounge is a new bar and nightclub that aims for a more up-to-date look. The Spinnaker Lounge replaces the Observation Lounge with a blue, tan and beige natural color palette.
  3. Norwegian Star: The ship underwent far-reaching renovations to its staterooms, restaurants, bars and lounges and public spaces. It has three new venues. The Sky High Bar has more seating than the previous installment. The Bliss Ultra Lounge is redesigned with new carpeting and custom lounge seating. Spice H20 is a new adults-only enclave.
