Victoria Cruises Partners With Globus on Yangtze River itineraries

As the 2018 sailing season begins on China’s Yangtze River, Victoria Cruises celebrates its renewed partnership with Globus as the exclusive Yangtze River cruise partner for the tour brand. Passengers will experience scenic landscapes and cultural interactions on four-day cruises with private-balcony accommodations on the five-star Victoria Katarina with the 12-day Classic China & the Yangtze or 14-day Flavors of China & the Yangtze tours from Globus.

Participants on either tour will have an opportunity to see Beijing highlights from the Forbidden City to the Peking Opera, while the Terra Cotta Warriors and an authentic noodle-making demonstration are highlights of travelers’ experience in Xi'an.

Both options include a four-day Yangtze River cruise operated by the Victoria Katarina. Vacationers will enjoy onboard activities and cultural entertainment along with scenic excursions into the heart of China. For example, passengers may board a smaller craft for an 18-mile round-trip journey to view the Goddess Stream, a tributary for the Yangtze that is home to several protected species of monkeys as well as a variety of Chinese medicinal herbs.

Passengers will also observe the Three Gorges from their private balcony or the top deck viewing area, learn about the largest hydroelectric dam project ever undertaken at the Three Gorges Dam, and see the world’s largest ship elevator that is capable of elevating ships up to 3,000 tons along with a volume of water roughly equivalent to four Olympic-sized swimming pools.

The 12-day Classic China & the Yangtze program is priced from $2,222 per person, double occupancy (sample rates are based on departure June 8 – August 17, 2018).

The expanded Flavors of China & the Yangtze itinerary adds two nights to explore the ancient bridges, causeways, temples and palaces of Hangzhou as well as a visit to the Giant Panda Research Base in Chengdu. The 14-day experience begins at $2,678 per person, double occupancy (sample pricing is based on departure September 13 – October 11, 2018).
