Viva Cruises Launches in North American Market

European river cruise brand Viva Cruises has announced plans to expand into the North American market. The company operates a fleet of 10 vessels on the Seine, Rhine, Main, Danube, Vltava, Elbe, Moselle and Rhone rivers, as well as the Black Sea

Joni Rein, most recently the head of Scenic Group USA, will oversee the brand’s North American launch under an agreement reached with Viva to include the development of strategic travel trade partnerships. Rein was also named one of our Most Innovative People in Cruise Travel for 2017

All-inclusive rates, which start at approximately $100 per person, per day, include all meals served onboard, including breakfast, lunch and a multi-course dinner incorporating regional specialties, as well as premium beverages including select wines, spirits, aperitifs, soft drinks, coffee, water, teas and juices. Also included are the in-stateroom minibar, which offers beer, water and soft drinks, and complimentary audio headsets and bottled water on all optional shore excursions. Shipboard gratuities will also be included effective March 1, 2020.

Viva has an English-speaking staff and shore experiences. It has now launched a North American website, along with toll-free support for the travel trade. Additionally, travel advisors will have the option of booking their clients online.

“A series of webinars and familiarization trips will be announced in late October to begin educating the travel trade,” Rein said.
