Cruise News: Investment in Alaska, Wave Season Deals

The Alaska summer cruise season is just a few months away, and new cruise and cruisetour options are debuting. Doubling its 2025 Alaska capacity, American Cruise Lines will position both the 170-passenger American Constitution and sister American Constellation there between May and September. Five different itineraries will include two new “Alaska National Parks” cruises. American Constitution will also operate fall Puget Sound cruises.

Also in Alaska, Holland America Line has announced a $70 million capital investment in the line’s Denali lodge property as well as new land-and-sea Cruisetours. In 2027, a new resort building will open with 120 suites and standard rooms, plus the main lodge will be renovated with a new restaurant concept and new lobby bar.

Riviera River Cruises has rebranded to Riviera Travel. That will bring the river cruise line segment of the business under the same umbrella as the company’s other entities. Riviera Travel is launching a new brand identity, new bundled travel packages, an expedited travel advisor commission schedule and more. Separately, Azamara has introduced a 188-night “2027 World Cruise” aboard Azamara Quest. Guests will explore 37 countries, 103 destinations and five continents.

Virgin Voyages announced plans for a new ship, new ports of call and new Wave Season offer. Also riding “The Wave,” Viking has launched a new Explorers’ Sale, while Atlas Ocean Voyages has announced new 2025 Wave Season offers. In addition, Hurtigruten has launched a Wave Season incentive for travel advisors.

In other news, beginning this March, Princess Cruises will unveil 10 to 20 new Amore Princess Zero Alcohol Collection of drinks.

From our recent Disney Cruise Line voyage, Travel Agent provided photos and insight about Disney Treasure’s new accessible Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom with Veranda. That ship is a Wish-class vessel. According to an article last week in Seatrade Cruise News, after Disney builds its fourth Wish-class ship, it will then look to a bit smaller design for the line’s next three new builds.
