This Week in Cruise Recovery: 2022-23 Plans; a Canceled World Cruise

In cruise restart progress, Princess Cruises announced that several cruise ships will return to cruising during February, March and April.

Looking ahead to 2023, Viking plans to position its next new 930-passenger ocean ship,Viking Saturn in northern Europe. The vessel will operate three new itineraries in Scandinavian and Nordic countries, as well as the popular "Iceland's Natural Beauty" itinerary. Also in 2023, Disney Cruise Line will return to tropical destinations in the Bahamas, including Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay, and also sail to the Caribbean and the Mexican Riviera. Homeports will include Miami and Port Canaveral, FL; New Orleans, LA; Galveston, TX; and San Diego, CA.

Celebrity Cruises will position three ships in Alaska in 2023, while Azamara also has unveiled 2023 and 2024 itineraries.

When cruisers return to Port Everglades, FL, for a cruise this winter, cruisers who are driving to the port will discover new, colorful, wayfaring signage. Cruisers sailing from Terminal 2 or Terminal 4 will discover a new Heron Garage, plus a new elevated walkway with moving sidewalks that leads from that garage to Terminal 2.
