This past week, much of the cruise industry "buzz" has centered on the latest and greatest new ships. Princess Cruises unveiled the first look at the 3,660-passenger Enchanted Princess—its newest MedallionClass ship. The vessel's inaugural season will feature 10-day Caribbean itineraries roundtrip from Port Everglades, FL.

Carnival Cruise Line announced that it will name its newest Excel-class ship Carnival Jubilee and that the LNG-powered vessel will sail from the Port of Galveston, TX, starting in 2023.

Erin Brown, a Bahamian woman who lost her leg to cancer, defied the odds and has inspired many people, served as godmother and christened Royal Caribbean International’s innovative Odyssey of the Seas in a celebration at Port Everglades on Saturday. Brown, a 41-year-old mother of two, is a paratriathlete who has competed at the international level.

Holland America Line's new flagship, Rotterdam, is now sailing to the Bahamas/Caribbean from Port Everglades, FL. In our report, Travel Agent detailed some of the “hot spots” for travelers around the ship.

Disney Cruise Line and Broward County in South Florida signed a 15-year marine and berth agreement for the line to home port year-round from Port Everglades. This will give Disney a second major year-round "Sunshine State" home port.
