Princess Cruises has updated the menu and style of its signature Italian restaurant, Sabatini's. The updates have been distributed across all of the ships that feature the Sabatini's restaurants. The main upgrade to Sabatini's service style is a shift to an a la carte system in place of its previous system, where families ordered only their entrees. Currently, Sabatini's is featured on 13 of Princess Cruises' ships.

Royal Caribbean International is now sailing its Mariner, Voyager, and Jewel of the Seas cruise ships to the Caribbean from Gulf Coast ports. Mariner of the Seas will home-port in Galveston, Texas, while Voyager of the Seas home-ports in New Orleans, La., and Jewel of the Seas home-ports in Tampa, Fla. The three ships will carry out Caribbean itineraries from these ports through April, 2012.

Norwegian Cruise Lines' Norwegian Spirit is scheduled to host the Millionaire Maker slot tournament at sea starting Nov. 13, 2011 during a sailing to New Orleans. This is the first time that the tournament, which has persisted for 17 years, will be taking place at sea. The 263 finalists will compete for a $1 million grand prize, with other cash prizes available.
