Cunard's Queen Elizabeth Makes Maiden Call at Halong Bay, Vietnam

Cunard's newest ship, Queen Elizabeth, made her maiden call Monday, March 31, at Halong Bay in Vietnam. The Bay is a UNESCO World Heritage site and famous as a James Bond film location.

Queen Elizabeth's call at Halong Bay comes over half way through her annual Round World Voyage, after leaving Southampton on Jan. 10, 2014 and having already sailed through the Panama Canal and on to San Francisco, Hawaii, New Zealand, Australia, Japan and China. The 2,000 passenger Cunard ship, which was named by Her Majesty The Queen in 2010, arrived in Halong Bay after an overnight stay in Hong Kong. Her itinerary takes her on to Singapore, Sri Lanka, India and Dubai, arriving back in Southampton on May 9 after 118 nights and calls at 40 ports in 23 different countries.
