Deer Valley Resort near Park City, Utah is set to open this Saturday, December 3.
That weekend, the resort will host the Deer Valley Celebrity Skifest on Birdseye ski run to benefit the Waterkeeper Alliance, which supports Waterkeeper member organizations to protect communities, ecosystems and water quality. The event pairs former Olympic ski athletes with television and film celebrities for a weekend of skiing, live music and fundraising. There will be giant slalom races at noon on December 3 and 4, and a Pro-Am race on Sunday, December 4 at noon. Participating athletes include Steve Mahre, Phil Mahre, Tommy Moe and Heidi Voelker, and participating celebrities include Larry David, Cheryl Hines, Scott Wolf, Patrick Warburton, Oliver Hudson and Hill Harper.
Additionally, the Mariposa restaurant, situated midmountain at Silver Lake Lodge, will offer a buy one entrée, get a second half price special from December 2-16. Reservations are necessary; call 435-645-6715.
