Aeromexico Suspends Co-Pilot After Arrest in Spain

In regards to reports being made about the arrest of an Aeromexico co-pilot in Madrid's Barajas Airport via flight AM001 originating in Mexico City on Wednesday, August 17, Aeromexico released an official statement.

According to the airline, "It is known that a crew member was arrested by Spanish customs authorities upon arrival at the airport while performing a routine luggage inspection."

The statement continues, "The airline has not yet received official notification from authorities in Spain as the situation is still currently under investigation. In the meantime, Aeromexico has temporarily suspended the employee until further information is available."
