Albergo Villa Casanova Opens After Year-Long Renovations

Albergo Villa Casanova, set outside Lucca, Italy, is open for business after a year of renovations and is already accepting guests.

Restoration of the 14 suites began in 2008. This included reducing the number of rooms in order to provide larger suites. Architects designed the rooms to match the local style and used materials such as Italian marble sourced from a nearby quarry.

The property has its own bar, restaurant and chapel, which dates back to 1860 and is perfect for marriage ceremonies and wedding receptions.

The work that went into the property has earned it a five-star rating. In the future, the owners will offer specialized vacations based on local activities including walking, art, truffle hunting, fashion, vintage and classic Italian car shows and Tuscan cookery.
