Antigua and Barbuda Launches New Romance Campaign

The Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority (ABTA) has introduced a new romance campaign “Love & Wanderlust.” The campaign comes as ABTA starts to roll out 2022 marketing programs across its four pillars: romance; yachting and sailing; wellness and heritage; and culture.

Shermain Jeremy, special projects and events manager for the ABTA and Romance Lead said, “With the pandemic affecting the weddings and honeymoons market substantially over the past two years, weddings and honeymoons, a $1.6 billion industry is poised for growth in 2022, and the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority intends to position the destination as the premier choice for couples.”

A new global Facebook timeline contest “Your Favorite Romantic Spaces,” kicks off the first phase of the campaign. The contest launched on the Antigua Barbuda Romance Facebook page on Valentine’s Day. “Your Favorite Romantic Spaces” is a user-generated content-type activation allowing lovers of Antigua and Barbuda from across the world to post a photo or video of their most romantic space, place or experience on the twin islands. The contest invites couples to share their romantic stories through videos and photos, sparking further awareness of the destination as the ideal dreamscape for couples.

“Highlighting the destination’s most unique and alluring attributes will be the foundation of the campaign. We don't want to tell Antigua and Barbuda’s love stories on our own, we want persons who have personally experienced it to share that experience with us through this contest by posting their photos and videos on the Antigua Barbuda Romance page timeline,” noted Jeremy.

Persons who wish to share their favorite romantic spaces on Antigua and Barbuda can click on the post link here to enter Persons 18 and older from across the globe can enter by replying to the post with a photo or video. The most liked photo and most watched video wins a $100 Amazon gift card each. The contest concludes on March 28, 2022.
