Apple Leisure Group subsidiary AMResorts recently announced the addition of Sunscape Puerto Plata to its resort management portfolio.
Sunscape Puerto Plata is the latest resort signed by the hospitality company. This year AMResorts has added 17 hotels in the Caribbean and Central America. Based on signed contracts to-date, AMResorts will have 57 resorts in 26 destinations throughout eight different countries by the end of 2018.
The former Barcelo Puerto Plata closed on November 2 to begin extensive renovations to incorporate Sunscape’s brand standards. It will re-open as Sunscape Puerto Plata in early 2016.
The 585-room resort, located on the northern coast of Playa Dorada, will include eight restaurants and bars with no reservations required.
