Aruba Names New Minister of Tourism

Otmar E. Oduber was officially announced as the new minister of tourism, transportation and labor affairs for the government of Aruba at the 2010 Caribbean Marketplace. Oduber was sworn into office on October 29.

In his new role, Oduber is focusing his vision on Aruba’s tourism product with plans to enhance and place more emphasis on the island’s current cultural offerings, including the revitalization of Aruba’s capital of Oranjestad. In the short time since being elected, he has already secured an additional $1.7 million yearly to out toward the creation of Aruba’s new linear park, which will be the longest in the Caribbean.
