Bahamas Reaches Five Million Visitors in 2010

For only the second time in history, The Bahamas officially recorded its five millionth visitor of the year on December 18.

To identify and recognize the five millionth visitor, arriving travelers at various ports of entry into the country were selected as candidates to be the lucky number on December 18, the day when statistics showed the tally would be achieved.

Candidates were placed in a random drawing and Randy Holmes of Vancouver, British Colombia was selected as the winner when his American Eagle flight arrived in Grand Bahama at 11:45 a.m.
