Barbados' Best All-Inclusives

Almond Beach Club & Spa
Almond Beach Club & Spa’s One Bedroom Beachfront Suite comes with an open-air living area.

We turned to the Barbados Tourism Authority for a hand in picking the best all-inclusive resorts on the island—and for tips on how to sell them effectively.

At Elegant Hotels’ Turtle Beach, Beach Ambassadors are on hand all the time—both at the pool and beach—and regularly surprise sunbathers with complimentary treats such as fresh fruit platters and chocolate-dipped indulgences.

Elegant Hotel’s newly launched Aqua School offers free instruction and use of equipment in a range of water sports, including kayaking, snorkeling, and sailing. A variety of add-on Discover Barbados excursions are scheduled to launch soon, allowing guests to get a real feel of the island, as well as a special Surf Barbados package for $100 per person (minimum two guests); the package comes with transportation to the island’s best waves and expert surf instruction.

Through the signature Taste of Elegance program, guests of Turtle Beach can dine at all hotels and restaurants in the Elegant Hotels collection during their stay. The exclusive daytime water-taxi service makes that and other amenities more convenient. The hotel is also the second in the Elegant Hotels collection to launch the signature Flying Fish Kids Club, which ensures that each Flying Fish “member” is kept entertained throughout their stay.

The One Bedroom Ocean View Suite is the top category in this all-suite resort. Each suite has a king-size bed, and a sofa bed in a separate living room. These suites can accommodate up to four adults or two adults with three children. They have full views of the ocean.

Because of its impressive program for children and spacious suites, we recommend booking the resort primarily for families. But the romantic setting and an array of available cuisines makes this a great pitch for couples, too, especially the foodies among them.

Agents should contact Groups Coordinator Omar Carrington (246-428-7131, [email protected]) with queries.

Tropical gardens surround the 76-room beachfront Mango Bay, Barbados, in the historic Holetown area on the famed Gold Coast of Barbados. The resort comprises three blocks of rooms, surrounding the pool, gym and restaurant. Mango Bay is walking distance from many shops in Holetown, a 30-minute drive from the capital city of Bridgetown and 45 minutes from the Grantley Adams International Airport.

The best room category here is the Penthouse Suite. At 1,200 square feet each, these luxurious suites have glass walls on two sides, affording an impressive view of the Caribbean Sea and the west coast. There is a wet bar at the entrance, and a fully furnished living area and patio; on the patio is a private jetted plunge pool. Also among the amenities in the Penthouse Suite are two 42-inch plasma TVs, one each in the living room and bedroom.

Because of the location, this is a great spot for clients looking to explore a bit off the property. Target couples keen on some shopping and the surrounding nightlife. This is also a great pitch for guys’ or girls’ getaways.

Agents can contact General Manager Kavita Sandiford at 246-432-1384 or e-mail [email protected] for more information.

Almond Beach Club & Spa is the sole adults-only all-inclusive resort in Barbados. Book the Deluxe Beachfront or the One Bedroom Beachfront Suite with an open-air living room or patio. Be sure to tell your clients to check out Tommy’s Bar, a Bajan rum shop. There is also a full-service spa offering up a full range of treatments.

For an extra charge, guests can receive perks such as private-reserve wines and liqueurs; lobster at certain meals; wine by the bottle; airport transfers; spa and beauty products, treatments and services; outside tours and excursions; scuba diving; laundry and dry cleaning; and video and photo services.

Pitch this resort to adults, of course—more specifically to couples looking for a quiet, secluded area of Barbados. For golf enthusiasts, the famous Green Monkey course at Sandy Lane is just five minutes away (though incredibly expensive for non-guests of Sandy Lane). Tip: A better value is the nearby Almond Beach Village Resort course, accessible by complimentary shuttle. It costs $5 per person and includes green fee, clubs and pull cart; golf balls and tees are not included and tee time reservations are required.

Agents should contact Reservations Manager Julie Boyce (246-422-4900, [email protected]) for booking and more information.
