Okay, so perhaps Barceló Hotels & Resorts may have ticked agents off a bit when they partnered with website last month, but put your feelings aside when looking to pitch some of its best Mexico properties. It’s not easy pitching Mexico these days, so you can’t afford to hold a grudge for too long. Barceló recently celebrated the completion of another multimillion-dollar renovation at the Barceló La Jolla de Mismaloya Hotel, an all-suite, all-inclusive, Premium brand hotel, just minutes from historic downtown Puerto Vallarta.

Barceló Patches Things Up 

Although we were told the timing was pure coincidence, Barceló followed up a week of agent backlash about its partnership with by introducing an agent-friendly program.

Barceló Hotels & Resorts debuted its first-ever loyalty program to help U.S. and Canadian travel agents easily earn complimentary vacation stays. In an effort to reinforce the valued relationship between the hotelier and the agent community, the “B Partner” loyalty program rewards agents for every confirmed booking at an all-inclusive Barceló property in Mexico, Costa Rica or the Dominican Republic.

Travel agents are instantly eligible to begin registering bookings to earn their rewards: 15 perks for each night booked at a Barceló Premium hotel and 10 perks for each night booked at a Barceló hotel. “B partners” can then earn free nights with as little as 300 perks, or only 20 booked room nights at a Premium Barceló property. The redesign and remodel of this AAA Four-Diamond hotel included the addition of a new restaurant, renovation to the swimming pool and lounge area and a comprehensive beach restoration program to enhance and restore one of Puerto Vallarta’s most beautiful beach coves.

The hotel’s 317 one- and two-bedroom guest suites are now decorated in a soft, contemporary palette of neutral tones, accented with tropical colors.

Each suite opens onto a large balcony with a view of Mismaloya Bay and the resort’s gardens.
La Jolla’s most popular rooms are the two-bedroom Family Suites because they easily accommodate up to five people and are among the most spacious suites you will find anywhere. They feature two separate bathrooms.

Guests can enjoy a variety of water sports as well as four outdoor swimming pools with waterfalls and a children’s slide, Jacuzzis, an on-site shopping promenade, a spa and fitness center and five restaurants ranging from resort casual to world-class cuisine.

Barceló’s newest resort on the Yucatán Peninsula is the all-inclusive Barceló Maya Palace, a luxurious five-in-one mega resort complex on the Riviera Maya.

Ideally located on Mexico’s eastern coast between Cancun and the intriguing ruins of Tulum, this Club Premium Barceló resort offers colonial-style architecture surrounded by tropical landscapes and white sands.

Maya Palace’s best rooms are the Junior Suites. These rooms are so plush that they are widely considered some of the best rooms in the Riviera Maya. For larger groups, Master Suites are also available.

The resort additionally offers a family entertainment program, two kids’ clubs, a 16,000-square-foot spa and wellness facility and an array of dining options, from à la carte restaurants to buffets. On-site activities include seven lit tennis courts, in-pool aqua aerobics, snorkeling, kayaking, diving, mini-golf, beach volleyball, sailing and windsurfing.
