The Best Ski Holiday Bargains for Next Winter – Why Now's the Time to Book

Thoughts may have turned to poolside cocktails and t-shirt tans on the beach, instead of powder days and goggle tans, but for skiers and snowboarders, especially families and groups, looking to bag a bargain for their next winter holiday, now is definitely the time to book.

As soon as one winter ends, another begins for ski and snowboard holiday operators and companies who have been advertising their best early-bird deals since April, rewarding those who just cannot wait to get another date set for their next trip to the mountains. But the honeymoon period has to end at some point, and many deals and offers are set to finish soon. From free lift passes, huge discounts and deals on added extras, here’s our round-up of the best.

Best for Christmas and New Year

Iglu Ski is offering family trips to Lapland this Christmas. A three or four day break includes a number of festive activities such as sleigh rides, visit to Santa and trips to see the elves. A three-day break costs from £869 per adult. The price includes accommodation, flights from London and transfers, departing on dates throughout December.

Erna Low is offering the chance for groups to book an entire chalet in Les Arcs 2000 this Christmas. Seven nights self catering at Chalet Altitude, which has four bedroom and is ski-in/ski-out, costs £3,520 in total, that’s £440 per person for a group of eight or two families of four. There’s free access to the local wellness centre, with pool and sauna. The price includes Eurotunnel Flexiplus ticket, arriving December 23.

Club Med has discounts on its all-inclusive Christmas holidays. Seven nights at its Cervinia residence costs from £1,508 per adult, saving £267 and from £1,262 per child, saving £223 – children under four stay for free. The price includes Club Med’s all-inclusive service, lift passes, lessons, flights from London Gatwick and transfers, departing 24 December 2017.

Save 20 per cent on Christmas skiing in Les Arcs with Ski Collection on trips booked before November 2 2017. Seven nights at Le Village residence in the French resort costs from £470 per person. The price includes a four-star luxury self-catered family apartment with ski-in/ski-out apartments and spa access and Eurotunnel crossing, based on five people sharing a two-bedroom apartment, arriving December 23 2017. 

SkiLine is offering free Trois Vallées lift passes for guest this Christmas and throughout January. Christmas week at the four-star Chalet Bonheur in Courchevel, France, which sleeps eight people, costs £999 per adult and £899 per child. The price includes chalet board, flights from London Gatwick and a free lift pass for the Trois Vallées ski area, departing December 20 2017.

Alpine Elements is offering seven nights at Hotel Renardiere in  Morzine, France, which has direct access to the slopes and a hot tub, for £645 per person. The price includes half board, flights and transfers, departing December 20 2017.

SNO.co.uk  is offering free lift passes for guests booking a Christmas chalet holiday in  France  and  Austria . A week at Chalet Bonneval in  Val d’Isère, France, costs £894 per person, including chalet board, flights from Heathrow and transfers, departing December 19 2017.

AliKats  is offering free kids’ places and lift passes on Christmas holidays. A week at its flagship chalet Ferme a Jules in  Morzine, France, costs from £975 per person, based on a family of four sharing a family room – the children under 12 stay for free. The price includes chalet board, travel excluded, departing December 22 2017.

Best for February half term

Head across the pond next February half term with Ski Solutions . A week at Panorama Upper Village Condos in Panorama costs from £970 per person. The price includes a four-star room, flights and transfers, departing February 17 2018. Book before 31 August and receive 50 per cent off accommodation, lift passes and transfers, plus an extra £50 off per person.

Ski Collection is offering 10 per cent off February half term trips to La Plagne booked before September 15. Seven nights in a three-star superior self-catered apartment at the Sun Valley residence costs from £488 per person. The prices is based on five sharing a two-bedroom apartment and standard Eurotunnel crossing, arriving February 10 2018.

SkiLine is offering all-inclusive holidays with Club Med at February half term for the whole family. A week at Club Med’s Les Arcs Extreme residence costs from £1,230 per person. The price includes all meals, drinks, lift passes, lessons, ski carriage, flights from Newcastle and transfers, departing 11 February 2018.

Erna Low is offering 10 per cent savings on half-term holidays. Seven nights in a two-bedroom apartment at Arc 1950 Le Village in Les Arcs, France, for groups of four to six people costs £2,854 total - reduced from £3,171. The price includes a self-catered apartment, pool access and the residences also has a programme of activities for children as well as a creche, departing February 10 2018. Excluding travel.

Alpine Elements  is offering seven nights at Chalet Haute Neiges in  Les Arcs, France, with its own pool, for £871 per person. The price includes half board, flights and transfers, departing February 18 2018. There’s also half-price equipment hire and discounts for groups of six.

Inghams  has a number of reduced package holidays for February half term. Seven nights at the three-star Hotel Berghof in  Alpbach, Austria, part of Austria’s Ski Juwel area, costs from £534 per person, saving £225 each. The price includes half board, flights from London Gatwick and transfers, departing February 17 2018.

Jasna Adventures  is offering 10 per cent off half term holidays to Jasna, a  lesser-known destination  in Slovakia. Seven nights at Jasna Adventures’ chalet for a group of 10 adults and six children is £418 per person. The price includes bed and breakfast, lift passes, transfers, in-resort pick-up and drop-off service, daily après drinks and snacks and one day of guiding around the slopes. The price is based on sole occupancy, departing February 10 or 17 2018.

Best for families

Take the whole family skiing in January for less than £500 per person with Esprit Ski . A week at Chalet Braconnier in La Rosiere costs £1,971 for a family of four, that’s £493 per person. The price includes chalet board, flights from London Gatwick and transfers, departing January 14 2018.

Inside the world's first ski-in/ski-out treehouse

Club Med has a number of deals for the Easter break 2018. Seven nights at its all-inclusive residence in Cervinia costs £1,150 per adult, saving over £200, and £948 per child, saving over £160 – kids under four stay for free. The price includes all inclusive accommodation, flights from Edinburgh, transfers and lessons, departing April 8 2018.

Book a ski trip with Peak Retreats or Ski Collection before October 31 2017 and received 10 per cent off selected weeks. A week in the family-friendly resort of Sainte Foy, France, costs from £193 per person with Peak Retreats. The price includes accommodation in a four-star self-catered apartment with ski-in/ski-out access and Eurotunnel crossing, with FlexiPlus upgrade, available on dates throughout January 2018. The price is based on five sharing a two-bedroom apartment.

The best family ski resorts

Neilson is offering up to 50 per cent off childcare for families staying at Neilson Hotel Aalborg or Le Cret in Les Deux Alpes or Del Clos in Soldeu, Andorra. A week at Neilson Hotel Aalborg costs from £565 per person. The price includes half board, flights from London Gatwick and transfers, departing December 16 2017.

Best for groups

Peak Retreats has added a number of new chalets, suitable groups of all sizes, to its 2017/18 offering. A week for a group of 18, split across three inter-linked apartments, in Vaujany in France costs from £179 per person. The price includes self-catering at the four-star Chalet Gilbert, Chalet des Carson and Le Petit Refuge and Eurotunnel crossing, arriving January 7 2018.

Alpine Elements has offers on early-January trips for groups. Four nights at Chalet Fjord in Val d’Isere costs £461 per person. The price includes half board accommodation, flights and transfers, departing January 3 2018. There’s also £50 off the holiday for groups and savings of up to £50 to £125 per person for groups of six or more.

Ski Total is urging bargain hunting skiers and snowboarders to book before June 30 to ensure the best prices and group discounts. Current deals running include two-for-one equipment hire or ski carriage, free lift passes for group leaders and free places for large groups. All Ski Total’s deals include flights, transfers, accommodation and chalet board – bookings must be made by  30 June 2017 to get the best price.

Celebrities favourite ski resorts

SkiLine is offering £100 off per person when groups of 10 fill a chalet Val Thorens, plus buy-one-get-one-free lift passes. A week at Chalet Clementine costs £785 per person. The price includes soul occupancy for a group of 10, catered accommodation, flights from London Gatwick and transfers, plus the free lift pass offer, which has to be booked separately, departing January 20 2018.

Iglu Ski is offering half price lift passes for everyone in a group when they book sole occupancy of a number of its chalets. Five nights at Chalet Le Valentin, which sleeps 12, in Sauze d’Oulx, Italy, costs £539 per person. The price includes catered accommodation, flights from London Gatwick and transfers, plus half price lift passes if booking the whole chalet, departing January 2 2018.

Neilson is offering groups the chance to save up to £150 per person when booking an entire Neilson chalet. A week's stay at Chalet Montagnettes, which sleeps 10 people, in La Plagne, France, costs from £729 per person, before discount has been applied for sole occupancy.

Powder White is offering an early-bird discount of up to 20 per cent on self-catered apartments - plus an extra 10 per cent for Telegraph readers using the code PWTG2018. Seven nights for four people at Montana Plein Sud in Val Thorens, France costs €1,808 total with an early-bird discount and is reduced further to €1,627 exclusively for Telegraph readers. The price includes a two-bedroom self-catered apartment, departing January 13 2018.

The ultimate ski bucket list

Powder Beds is offering a 15 per cent discount on early bookings. Seven nights in a three-bedroom self-catered apartment at Chalet des Neiges in Val Thorens costs £2,804 total, saving 15 per cent. The price is based on six people sharing and excludes travel, departing March 31 2018.

Best for luxury

VIP Ski has two new luxury apartments opening this season in Morzine . VIP is currently offering the chalets as part of its saver weeks in January and March, chance to save up to £100 per person, if booked before October 31. A week at Colibri Uno, next to the resort’s lifts with four ensuite bedroom and its own hot tub, costs from £1,079 for groups of eight to 12 people. The price includes chalet board, return flights and transfers, departing January 7 2018.

Première Neige  is offering 15 per cent off luxury chalet holidays booked before August 31. Stay at La Marquise chalet in Sainte Foy for a week in January 2018 from £803 per person. The price includes half-board accommodation in an ensuite room in this luxury chalet, which has its own hot tub, sauna, steam room and massage room, just metres away from the slopes. Must book before the end of August, valid on dates throughout January.

Erna Low is offering the chance to save 50 per cent on trips to Whistler. 10 nights at the five-star Fairmont Chateau Whistler costs £1,694 per person including a free room upgrade. The price includes flights from London Heathrow and transfers on a room-only basis, departing 22 January 2018.

Club Med is offering savings of up to 15 per cent on all-inclusive holidays booked six months or more in advance. Ski Solutions is offering the chance to save up to 50 per cent on accommodation in Whistler . Seven nights at the Four Seasons costs £1,440 on a room-only basis. The price includes a free room upgrade, flights and transfers, departing 20 January 2018. Book before 31 August for the free upgrade plus receive free children's’ lift passes and an additional £50 off per person.

Ski Solutions has a number of deals ending on August 31. A week’s stay at Chalet Hotel Parc Victoria in Cortina costs from £880 per person. The price includes chalet board, flights and transfers, departing February 24, 2018. There’s also chance to bag buy-one-get-one-free adult lift passes in Cortina, if booked before August 31.

Ski Total is offering buy-one-get-one-free lift passes in all Austrian and French resorts on selected December departure dates, if booked before August 31. A week at Chalet Marilyn in the snow-sure resort of Tignes costs from £708 per person. The price includes chalet board, flights from London Gatwick and transfers, departing December 12 2017.

Powder N Shine is offering three full days of private instruction worth €1,300 with bookings of a whole catered chalet in December. A week at any of Powder N Shine’s luxury chalets in Les Menuires costs from £11,235 total, departing 16 or 23 December 2017. Ski Safari  has offers on the  Epic Pass, which allows pass holders to ski over 40 resorts worldwide including  Vail,  Beaver Creek,  Whistler,  Breckenridge  and  Park City  in  North America . The passes start from £360, with different options available.

Seven nights at the three-star Village Club Du Soleil in  Montgenevre, France, costs £903 per person. The price includes full board, flights from London Gatwick, transfers, lift passes, equipment hire, free wine and free kids club, departing March 17 2018.

Best for learning something

The Warren Smith Ski Academy has announced its course dates for next season and is offering an early-bird discount of 10 per cent throughout May - plus prices are currently frozen at the 2016 rate until June 1 2017. The Academy is offering week-long courses in Verbier, Switzlerand as well as in Cervinia, Italy, plus five-day courses in Champoluc, Italy.
