Bolshoi May Not Meet Renovation Deadline

Moscow's Bolshoi Theater may not reopen next year as originally planned due to unexpected hiccups during its renovation. Reuters reports that the Bolshoi, one of the world's leading opera and ballet companies, has encountered such unforeseen difficulties as fungal rot, which could delay its opening until 2009. However, the building is still being examined and renovators may have a more firm completion date by the end of August, the news service added. In the meantime, the Bolshoi Ballet is performing at the London Coliseum until August 18. Visit [].
