Cannery Casino Resorts is being sold for nearly $1.8 billion, including acquisition costs, to a gaming company controlled by Australian billionaire James Packer.

Melbourne, Australia-based Crown, Ltd. will acquire 100 percent of the company in a transaction that is expected to be complete in a year to 18 months. The acquisition includes the Cannery in North Las Vegas and the $250 million Eastside Cannery, which is being built to replace the Nevada Palace on Boulder Highway in Vegas.
