Carnival Splendor to Operate Line's First-Ever South America Itineraries

Carnival Cruise Lines will operate 14- to 18-day South America voyages aboard its newest ship, Carnival Splendor, beginning 2009, the cruise line announced Monday. The 3,006-passenger ship will call on ports in Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Ecuador, Chile and Peru. Carnival will begin accepting reservations July 10, with prices starting at $1,399 for the 14-day cruise. Carnival Splendor launches in another first-time region, Northern Europe, next summer.
