Club Med Renovates Brazil Resort

club medClub Med has announced the relaunch of the Rio das Pedras resort in Brazil after renovations to room accommodations, the main restaurant, convention center and the addition of a new adults-only quiet pool.

In southern Rio de Janeiro, this eco-resort is between the Mata Atlântica rainforest and nearly 2,000 feet of private beach.

The relaunch introduces new and upgraded rooms to the property’s 346 total Colonial-style bungalows. The 120 Deluxe Rooms were redesigned with local materials and décor to highlight the traditional influences of Brazil, India and Portugal. The resort also added a quiet pool exclusively for adults.

Renovations also include a $4 million investment in the Convention Center and Main Restaurant.

For families, the resort offers activities for children from four months to 17 years of age, with Baby Club Med, Petit Club Med, Mini Club Med and Juniors’ Club Med, providing dedicated programs and amenities for each age group. Activites include land and water sports with multi-level instruction, such as archery, tennis, water-skiing and kayaking. An on-property biologist is availble for excursions into the Private Natural Heritage Reserve. For an additional cost, the resort also offers tours to the Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro, rafting on the Mambucaba river and visits to Brazilian coffee farms.
