Dominica Launches Southern Caribbean’s Highest Zip Line

Rain Forest Adventures Dominica’s new Gorge Zip Challenge, opening September 30, will officially be the Southern Caribbean’s highest zip line.

The six-platform course navigates three lines through the rainforest canopy. The highest and most exciting is a ride over the 350-foot Breakfast River Gorge. Rain Forest Adventures re-opens to the public on October 3.

Rain Forest Adventures Dominica is introducing the “Nature Island’s” most exciting sustainable tourism project in recent years. The Gorge Zip Challenge will also be the eco-adventure park’s first year-around attraction, entertaining hotel and cruise guests, as well as island residents.

The launch event will be held September 30 in the island’s capital Roseau with the Minister of Tourism Ian Douglas, the Dominica Hotel and Tourism Association and the Discover Dominica Authority, and is open to the community.

The Gorge Zip Challenge is accessible from the park’s signature Rain Forest Aerial Tram or by the Chatannier Nature Trail. From the park’s top station, visitors receive a safety briefing and orientation, and then take a short walk to the first platform and a 125-foot zip line. The second zip line (250 feet) takes riders higher yet and is followed by a 40-foot rappel to the ground.

Rain Forest Adventures Dominica is located within a mountain cloud forest at the edge of the Morne Trois Pitons National Park.
