Those heading to California this month have more in store than just the warm weather, as Dylan's Candy Bar in the Marriott's Shadow Ridge in Palm Desert, Calif., has officially set up shop.
Fashioned after the New York flagship store, this sweet shop more than lives up to its candy mold, with bright turquoise walls, a candy-coated ceiling and shelves upon shelves displaying the store's savory treats. Look out for the Valentine's Day special edition chocolate bars. We like the Belgian milk chocolate "Bleeding Heart Bar," filled with red caramel.
Created in 2001 by Dylan Lauren (daughter of fashion designer Ralph Lauren), the chain has since expanded to New York's East Hampton and Roosevelt Field and Houston. In Palm Desert, the store is among the resort's Shadow Ridge Golf Club and the Faldo Golf Institute by Marriott, alongside the property's 497 one- and two-bedroom villas. Trademark Dylan's Candy Bar features also include a candy-inspired fashion and a private party room adorned by gumball tables and gumdrop ceilings. We like the Belgian chocolate fountain on the weekends.
