Charles Head, general manager of the Fairmont Kea Lani, Maui, has announced Shannah Milstead as the resort's new director of sales and marketing. Milstead will oversee the 450-key all-suite and villa resort’s group and leisure sales divisions, conference services and catering sales, revenue management, marketing and public relations efforts.
Milstead brings more than twenty years of senior leadership and expertise in sales and marketing of luxury hotels. Most recently, Milstead served as executive director of sales programs for FRHI Hotels & Resorts International, where she was responsible for leading the worldwide sales programs strategy for all hotels and global sales teams within the Fairmont, Raffles and Swissotel brands.
Her key projects included the redevelopment, implementation and governance of two new global sales incentive and compensation programs, sales training, collaboration tools and resources, divisional standard operating procedures and more. Prior to this, Milstead held the position of Regional Director of Sales and Marketing for Fairmont Hawaii.
Milstead's first appointment with Fairmont Hotels & Resorts was as director of sales and marketing for Fairmont Dallas, where she led her team to earn the distinction of 2010 FHR Sales Team of the Year. Milstead has held various senior sales positions with Prism Hotels & Resorts, Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort, ClubCorp and Bristol Hotels & Resorts.
