The first Grand Hyatt in Mexico set along the Rivera Maya is now open.

The Grand Hyatt Playa del Carmen Resort in Playa del Carmen, which we previewed earlier this month, is the first Grand Hyatt-branded hotel in Mexico and the eleventh Hyatt-branded hotel in the country. There are a total of 314 guestrooms with 20 oceanfront suites and two presidential suites.

The new resort has two restaurants. La Cocina serves Mexican and Caribbean inspired dishes, while The Grill at 1-26 is more of a steakhouse with prime steaks and seafood.

The 6,000-square-foot Cenote Spa has hydrotherapy stations, a eucalyptus steam room and fiber optic chromo therapy showers. Another element to the resort is the 15,000 square feet of flexible indoor and outdoor meeting space.
