Foodie Report: Italian Eats in NYC

New York City

Here at Travel Agent’s New York City office, we, the editors, are lucky enough to call the Big Apple our home. Below we are sharing a few of our favorite restaurants in Manhattan and Brooklyn to grab a delicious Italian meal.

Situated on the booming Franklin Ave in the heart of Crown Heights, Brookyln, Barboncino serves wood-fired, Neapolitan pizza that can go toe to toe with the best we've tried in Naples -- you'll need a knife and a fork for this. For those in the neighborhood early, the restaurant also serves brunch pies. Try the pancetta egg and cheese for a savory option, or the pear and gorgonzola for something sweet.

Malatesta Trattoria

This eatery makes you feel like you’re in Italy with its intimate seating, fresh ingredients and reasonable prices. Located on Washington St. in Manhattan this is the perfect place to dine winter or summer. In warmer months the restaurant becomes open-air, but in the winter it becomes warm and cozy inside with dim lighting. The special's menu is always changing, but this is the only restaurant where we order the ravioli. It comes in a mouth-watering pink sauce, and leaves you full. Note: It is cash only.

Trattoria Pesce Pasta

We go to this eatery for a casual night out and to celebrate special occasions. Located on the famous Bleecker St, this pasta hub usually doesn’t have a wait, but is filled with white-tablecloth tables and locals. We love to order classic dishes here like the spaghetti with meatballs (which are very popular). Another must is any fish dish -- the seafood is fresh and always changing with the season.
