German Rail Passes Now on GDS

Travel agents can now issue e-tickets for the German Rail (DB) Rail & Fly product line on their GDS primary screen. The “Rail & Fly” e-tickets facilitate travel between rail stations located in the main German airports of Frankfurt, Cologne, Leipzig and Dusseldorf and more than 100 cities.

The new e-ticket capability means that the rail products can be sold in conjunction with air tickets on the same ticket. Oddbjorn Taraldsvik, senior director for AccesRail said that his company had worked closely with Amadeus, which hosts the AccesRail e-ticketing server, to become the first e-ticketing solution for railways on the GDS primary screens.
