Greece's Deputy Tourism Minister Steps Down

Angela Gerekou, Greece's deputy tourism minister resigned on Monday, May 17, after it was released that her husband owed nearly $7 million in unpaid taxes, reports the New York Times.

This comes as a major embarrassment especially since Greece has been working to put an end to tax evasion as the country came close to bankruptcy and were bailed out by other members of those that use the euro and the International Monetary Fund with a $160 billion package.
