Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau Launches Video Initiative

The Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau has announced a campaign asking locals to distribute their "talking story" messages through a partnership with TurnHere, an online video solutions platform. The initiative showcases seven GoHawaii videos featuring Hawaii's people sharing stories of the islands and the experiences that await visitors. TurnHere has built a YouTube channel for the videos, a GoHawaii travel blog and is loading the videos into all major search engines.

"TurnHere has a proven track record in delivering video content in a unique way online," said Kara Imai, senior director of online marketing for the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau. "By distributing this video content on YouTube, our new travel blog and destinations across the web, we can engage with potential visitors in new ways."

Jay Talwar, senior vice president of marketing for the HCVB, notes that the organization has three legs to its marketing strategy: to sell the natural beauty of the islands, to promote the diversity of experiences on the islands and to showcase the aloha spirit of the people of Hawaii, including the islands' mix of cultures. The marketing tagline is "The people of Hawaii want to share their islands with you." Visit [http://gohawaii.turnhere.com]. (MR)
