Hawaiian Airlines Ranks High with Department of Transportation

Great news for travel to Hawaii: For the eighth consecutive month, Hawaiian Airlines was the nation’s top-ranked carrier in May for both on-time performance and fewest flight cancellations, as reported today by the Department of Transportation’s (DOT) monthly Air Travel Consumer Report.

Hawaiian ranked #1 among all airlines for punctuality during May with 94.3 percent of its flights arriving as scheduled.

In addition, the airline had the fewest canceled flights for May with only one cancellation out of 5,511 total flights, also ranking it #1 in the industry. Hawaiian also had the nation’s second highest ranking for fewest misplaced bags during May, having recorded 1.82 mishandled baggage reports for every 1,000 passengers served.

The DOT report covers 18 airlines, including eight carriers providing service to Hawaii, and is available online at http://airconsumer.ost.dot.gov/reports/atcr10.htm
