Hotel Matilda now boasts a 4,700-square-foot spa, dubbed Spa Matilda. The spa, developed by Under a Tree Consulting, was designed with the contrast of rustic and sophisticated styles in San Miguel de Allende in mind. 
"We created Spa Matilda within the context of our underlying belief that an integrated program of personalized treatments provides the foundation for a truly authentic spa experience," said Amy McDonald, founder of Amy McDonald Associates, the parent company of Under a Tree.
The spa is set in a garden area with indigenous plants. The decor features a "liquid wall" water feature and an arched ceiling. The spa includes a couple's room, a wellness studio, a private luxury suite with a garden and lounge, and an indoor/outdoor relaxation lounge with a fireplace. The grounds also feature a fitness facility with cardio- and strength-training equipment.
Treatments available at Spa Matilda include integrated wellness experiences, massage, body therapies, skin care, beauty services and fitness training.
