According to published reports, the Israel Hotel Association is predicting a 50 percent drop in tourism in 2007 and a dip in hotel occupancy levels from 70 percent in 2005 to 40 percent. The association claims the local tourism industry will suffer without the Ministry of Tourism's marketing campaign, which is scheduled to launch this month.
