Israel Ministry of Tourism Promotes Galilee Region

Israel's Ministry of Tourism kicked off the "Galilee Spirit" program to attract American tourists back to northern Israel following the ceasefire. U.S. travelers can pre-pay for discounted stays at hotels, inns and bed and breakfasts now for travel through June 30, 2007. "The Galilee is one of Israel's favorite vacation regions," said Arie Sommer, Israel Commissioner for Tourism, North and South America, "and while the ceasefire will bring tourists back to northern Israel, we wanted to do something right now for Americans who may have changed their summer plans to avoid that part of the country."
