Jackson Hole Mountain Resort Season Opener Enjoys Record Snowfall

Things are looking up — or deep — for Jackson Hole, WY, skiers.

This year's opening at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort broke a record, marking the first time in the 46-year history of the resort that all the mountain's major lifts were in operation on opening day. The snowy November 27 season opener attracted the most ever skiers and snowboarders for an opening at Jackson Hole. The resort has received 161 inches of snowfall this early season, according to a Terra Resort Group release.

If the snowfall forecasts are any indication, the presence of fresh powder on opening day could be the beginning of a good season for mountain-goers. Reports are predicting 16% more snowfall than average in Jackson Hole, according to the Terra Resort Group.

Terra Resort Group has two hotels at Jackson Hole offering winter getaway packages. Teton Mountain Lodge and Hotel Terra are both offering discounts on room rates, lift tickets and breakfast for two.
