Kauai Golf Club Lets Families Play Together

Exciting news for families and golfers alike at Kauai's St. Regis Princeville Resort: The property's Makai Golf Club, a Troon Golf-managed facility, has announced it will offer free golf for juniors. (No surprise there—Troon Golf recently introduced the Troon Family Golf program, which allows juniors to play free after 3 p.m. when playing with an adult at more than 60 Troon facilities across the U.S.)

But the Makai Golf Club is taking the program one step further by offering free golf for juniors age 15 and under at any time, any day (no 3 p.m. restriction), and juniors age 16 and 17 receive 50 percent off green fees. Juniors can also use complimentary Callaway rental clubs while on the course. To qualify for this offer, each junior player must be accompanied by a paying adult (one free junior per one paying adult). If one adult accompanies two or three juniors, one plays free and the other young players will be offered 50 percent off the adult rate.

Makai Golf Club at The St. Regis Princeville Resort has two individual courses: the 18-hole Makai Course, which reopened in January after extensive renovation, and the 9-hole Woods Course, which reopened April 1. Both courses were designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. Cool touch: New golf carts are in use for the Makai and Woods courses, and will be equipped with GPS by the end of April. Golfers on the Woods Course can also walk the course for a more classic and traditional golf experience.
