Aston Kauai Beach at Makaiwa has announced three new appointments to its staff. Isaac “Ike” Cockett has been hired as general manager, Rafael Camarillo is now executive chef, and Jaye Gayagas-Youn is the new director of sales.
Ike Cockett oversees operations at the 311-room beachfront hotel. He has more than 20 years of experience in the travel and hospitality industry, most recently serving as the general manager of the Ilikai Hotel in Waikiki. Cockett’s background also includes marketing and sales positions at Marriott and Hilton hotels in Hawaii.
Rafael Camarillo oversees the restaurant and banquet kitchens at the hotel. His 
award-winning cooking has earned him top honors from Hospitality Magazine, Taste of Hawaii, and the Hawaii Hotel & Lodging Association. He previously served as sous chef at the St. Regis Princeville Resort and executive chef at several Marriott properties on Kauai. 
Jaye Gayagas-Youn is responsible for overseeing and developing all group segments for Aston Kauai Beach at Makaiwa. She has more than 20 years of experience in Kauai’s hospitality industry, including management sales positions with Outrigger Hotels & Resorts and the Hilton Kauai Beach Resort. She most recently served as the senior sales manager for the Kauai Beach Resort in Lihue, where she was responsible for overseeing group sales across all geographical regions and market segments. Gayagas-Youn’s background also includes work in food and beverage operations, as well as convention services.
