The Ascend Collection membership program from Choice Hotels International, Inc. has acquired its first New Hampshire property, The Lane Hotel.

The 40-room boutique hotel just reopened in May following a major renovation, featuring a redesigned entrance lobby with a new coffee bar and lounge. Situated in historic downtown Keene, N.H., in the picturesque Monadock Lake Region, visitors to The Lane have easy access to Vermont’s Green Mountains, New Hampshire’s White Mountains, the Horatio Colony Museum, Granite Gorge, Rhododendron State Park, Mount Monadnock and an array of locally owned restaurants and boutique shops right next door. The hotel exterior is a Keene landmark that dates from 1891, while the interior meshes contemporary style with the high ceilings and exposed brick walls of the building’s past.

"We’re delighted to bring Ascend Collection to the beautiful state of New Hampshire,” said Stacy Ragland, vice president for Ascend Collection from Choice Hotels International. “Keene draws visitors year-round with its charming shops, restaurants and outdoor recreation. The Lane is the region’s premier downtown lodging. With its business amenities, stylish décor and great location, this hotel is ideal for both business and leisure travelers.”

The Ascend Collection membership program is a network of more than 70 hotels that appeals to travelers who like to discover upscale independent hotels with local flavor. As a member of the Ascend Collection, The Lane is able to maintain its independent identity while taking advantage of the support of Choice Hotels International, one of the world’s largest hospitality companies. The hotel gains access to the 12 million member-strong Choice Privileges rewards program, as well as marketing support and an online presence on ChoiceHotels.com.

Rooms at The Lane Hotel range from $119 to $249 per night, based on season and length of stay.
