The Latest on Las Vegas Concerts and Residencies

A number of new concerts, shows, and residencies have been announced in Las Vegas, with famous acts like Jennifer Lopez, Stevie Wonder, and Van Morrison leading the way. Here is the latest.

Gwen Stefani

Grammy-award winning artist Gwen Stefani has begun her residency at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in the Zappos Theater. Fans can buy tickets for “Gwen Stefani – Just a Girl” now, with dates running through March 2019.

Tickets for the performance start at $59 and can be purchased online or at the Planet Hollywood box office. LaneOne VIP Premium Packages are also available, offering seats, transportation and preferred entrance.

Stefani, Live Nation Las Vegas and Caesars Entertainment will donate $1 of every ticket to the Las Vegas-based Cure 4 The Kids. The money will go towards moving the nonprofit organization into a new building to increase the amount of available exam rooms.

Stevie Wonder

Stevie Wonder has announced he will be playing five shows at The Park Theater in Las Vegas this summer, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal. The schedule includes shows on August 3, 4, 8, 10 and 11. Tickets for the show, titled “The Stevie Wonder Song Party: A Celebration of Life, Love & Music,” are on sale at Ticketmaster.com, with prices starting at $56 (not including fees).

Van Morrison

Van Morrison will perform five shows January 25, 26 and 30 and February 1 and 2, 2019 at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace. Tickets range from $59.50 to $250 and are on sale. Morrison played three sold-out shows at the Colosseum in 2018 from January 31 to February 3.

Defending the Caveman

Kevin Burke, of Defending the Caveman at the D Las Vegas, has announced that he will be leaving the Las Vegas production following his performance on August 2. Burke has announced he will end his run of daily Defending the Caveman shows and focus more on touring and being able to spend time with his family.

Burke has been the face of Defending the Caveman in Las Vegas for 10 of the years it has been in the market. He’s performed the show at Golden Nugget Las Vegas, Excalibur Hotel & Casino, Harrah’s Las Vegas and the D Las Vegas. In all, Burke has performed the show more than 5,000 times worldwide since his start in 2003.

Burke was recognized in 2008 as "Las Vegas Entertainer of the Year" and holds the Guinness World Record for “Most theatrical performances in 50 days,” both awards he achieved during his time with Defending the Caveman.

Defending the Caveman runs nightly. Performances are 8:40 p.m. at the D showroom at the D Las Vegas.

I LOVE THE ’90s TOUR

The I LOVE THE ’90s TOUR will become the I LOVE THE ’90s – THE VEGAS SHOW when it begins its Las Vegas residency on October 12. 

Hosted at Paris Las Vegas, the 90-minute dance party will include a variety of ’90s stars, beginning with Salt-N-Pepa, Rob Base and All-4-One. In the future, the I LOVE THE ’90s show will feature Sugar Ray’s Mark McGrath, Kid ’n Play and Dru Hill.

Beginning in 2016, the I LOVE THE ’90s TOUR featured a variety of ’90s artists, traveling through the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand across hundreds of performances.

I LOVE THE ’90s – THE VEGAS SHOW will take the stage on select evenings at 9 p.m. beginning October 12. Tickets will be available for purchase on Ticketmaster.com starting July 27. The performance will be hosted in the 1,400-seat Paris Theater.

2018 "El Grito" Lineup

Visitors to Las Vegas this September can celebrate Mexican Independence Day with a weeks’ worth of performers, stand-up comedy and championship boxing. The 2018 "El Grito" activities include acts by Jennifer Lopez, Luis Miguel, and Enrique Iglesias.

The festivities begin September 12 with performances by Jennifer Lopez and Carlos Santana. Lopez will sing at Zappos Theater in Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino on September 12, 14 and 15. Santana will perform at the House of Blues in the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino on September 12, 14, 15, 16 and 19.

Banda MS, Caifanes, and Romeo Santos will perform at MGM Grand Garden Arena in the MGM Grand. Banda MS and Caifanes will take the stage September 14 and Santos will follow the next day, September 15.

The Colosseum at Caesars Palace will host singers Luis Miguel and Enrique Iglesias. Guests will be able to see Miguel September 13 and 14 and Iglesias the following two days, September 15 and 16.

Other musical artists include Cheyanne, playing at The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas on September 14, and mariachi singer Alejandro Fernández, performing at Mandalay Bay Events Center in the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino September 15.

Comedians Gabriel Iglesias and Felipe Esparza will also do stand-up; Iglesias at The Mirage Hotel & Casino September 15 and 16, and Esparza at The Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas on September 14. 

At T-Mobile Arena, middleweight boxers Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin will fight September 15.

George Wallace

Comedian and actor George Wallace has returned to Las Vegas with a new residency show at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino. Wallace will perform Tuesday through Thursday at 8 p.m. inside the Westgate Cabaret.

Wallace began his career in comedy as a writer for “The Redd Foxx Show,” and garnered attention when he captured first prize on the cable television special “The Big Laugh Off.”

Recently, Wallace appeared in the show “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” with Jerry Seinfeld and starred alongside Morgan Freeman in the film “Just Getting Started.” He will be appearing in the upcoming movie “The Last Laugh,” alongside Richard Dreyfus and Chevy Chase.

Florida Georgia Line 

Florida Georgia has announced a limited five-night residency on the Las Vegas strip. “FLORIDA GEORGIA LINE LIVE FROM LAS VEGAS” begins Saturday, December 1 inside Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, and continues on December 5, 7, 8, and 11. The live performances will open each night with artist Mason Ramsey.

Celine Dion 

Due to ongoing ticket demand, Celine Dion has announced 24 additional show dates for her Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. The performances are scheduled October 30 through November 17 and December 28 through January 20, including a performance on New Year’s Eve. Since March 2003, Dion has performed over 1,000 shows to over 4 million fans at The Colosseum.

Rod Stewart 

Singer and songwriter Rod Stewart has announced new fall 2018 show dates for his Las Vegas residency “Rod Stewart: The Hits” at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. The six new shows are scheduled for November 21, 23-24, and 28; and December 1-2.

Diana Ross

Following a successful second run, Diana Ross will make her return to Wynn Las Vegas for a third headlining engagement this fall. The singer-songwriter will take the stage at the Encore Theater for nine performances beginning October 31, with additional performances November 2-17.
