Lucy: Just One of the Hidden Treasures of Ethiopia

Lucy

On June 24, thousands of people will have the opportunity to see the "Lucy's Legacy: The Hidden Treasures of Ethiopia" exhibition at Discovery Times Square Exposition in New York City. The international exhibit allows visitors the extraordinary opportunity to come face to face with Lucy, the oldest, most complete, and best preserved adult fossil of any erect walking human ancestor.

But if you're unable to come to the Big Apple this summer, Ethiopian Airlines, sponsors of the exhibit, is launching the "Lucy's Legacy Tour," a journey to the origins of mankind.

“Being able to see Lucy in person is only the beginning, now you must visit Ethiopia and journey through the land that is referred to as the cradle of mankind,” says Gobena Mikael, director of Americas for Ethiopian Airlines.

The tour features stops in Axum, the reputed resting place of the “Ark of the Covenant,” and Lalibela, where travelers can see rock-hewn churches carved from solid red volcanic rock in the 12th century by King Lalibela. The package includes luxury hotel accommodations, all international and domestic flights, meals, a professional guide and the option of extending the package to take a safari in Tanzania as an add-on.
