More than 670 Pinterest users took part in Marriott Caribbean & Mexico Resorts contest for a chance to win a trip to one of the Collection's eight beach resorts. After nearly 4,000 pins were created on the Marriott Resorts Pinterest page during the month-long contest, Middletown, Md. resident Carolyn Stamper was chosen as winner of a five night vacation for two, including daily breakfast and a $200 resort credit, to the Paradise by Marriott destination of her choice.
The nation-wide contest was launched on May 20, 2013 and took place through June 21. Followers created a board on their Pinterest profile using images from the Marriott Resorts Pinterest page, titled “My Marriott Resorts Vacation.” The winner was selected at random through an online lottery selection.
“The Pinterest boards that were generated during this contest were incredibly creative,” said Michelle Bozoki, director of marketing and eCommerce, Caribbean & Latin America Resorts. “It was especially meaningful for us to see individuals really utilizing images from each of our properties to depict their dream vacation. We were very encouraged by the results.”
