New Luxury Resort to Open in Maui in January

Honua Kai Resort & Spa, Maui's newest luxury beach resort, is set to open January 2009 on Kaanapali's North Beach. The resort is settled on 38 oceanfront acres near some of the island's more popular snorkeling and dive beaches. The accommodations are situated in two U-shaped buildings with ocean and mountain views, plus landscaping and expansive open spaces.

The 628 one-, two- and three-bedroom guest suites are fully-equipped with luxury resort services, and the resort includes an aqua network of pools, hot tubs, natural pond bridges, waterslide, waterfalls and fountains.

Honua Kai Resort & Spa will open in two phases. In January 2009, the Hokulani building opens with 318 guest suites, a lobby cafe, a pool and a fitness center. In Spring 2010, the Konea building opens with 310 guest suites, a lobby cafe, a beachside restaurant, two pools and a spa.

Published rates for 2009 begin at $400 per night for the "Ohana" room category at 590 square feet. Special 2009 rates and promotions will be announced.
